Democracy Run - CIVILISATION in SYDNEY

OUR NEXT EXPEDITION IS A BEAUTY!!

We are preparing to take the Y9 students to Sydney to access key museums, galleries, historic sites in Week 5.  This is a big cost but we feel the benefits are worth it.

TRAVEL – teaching how to use public transport

We have planned to camp on Cockatoo Island – and we have a focus on teaching the students to use public transport – especially in Sydney.  All students will be given an Opal Card.

ACCOMMODATION

We will be staying in setup tents on Cockatoo Island.  The students would need to bring their own sleeping bags.  The tents accommodate two students.

FOOD

This camp will require students to have a stipend to purchase food in the city.

Cooking facilities are available on Cockatoo Island but we have access to so many food outlets in Sydney – and we would expect parents to cover the costs of three lunches and three dinners (it would be great to take them to a yum-cha in China Town).
