The First Stage - we create a rainforest walled garden in the heart of Lismore. We have a flood mitigation plan with the lower floor able to be cleaned and maintained.
Location of the Middle School and our other Learning Neighbourhoods
The external view of our additional flood-free level is light-weight and opens up the building.
The internal cross section shows the upper levels and the lower spaces.
Taking off the roof will make a walled garden – with a rainforest.
Removing a roof section opens up a ‘walled garden’ concept and offers more natural lighting.
The upper floor of “Central” – Living School’s new Brown and Jolly rebuild
The floor plan for the “Central” includes a rainforest, theatre, basketball court, design lab, workshop, eating area, change rooms, visual arts studio, repair cafe.
The front section “Lobe” offers a study space, a library area, and opens up a void to connect the two levels.
The lower level of “Lobe” offers creative play and learning space – including a student-managed shop, study spaces and a pickle ball court.
The location will allow us an extended learning space out of any recorded flood water height
