TA’s provide valuable assistance to classroom teachers. TA’s are not trained teachers and are employed under an MEA at different levels based on their qualifications and experience.

Teachers are not authorised to extend a TA’s roles and responsibilities beyond their contracted level of responsibility.  Such actions would be a professional breach, as it has a direct bearing on salary levels and budget.  If such circumstances were to arise, there would be a professional management procedure instigated.
