Conductor: responsible for overseeing, managing and maintaining the whole school progressive education curriculum, policies, staff management, school culture, academic standards and strategic intent. The Conductor delegates to each Director the management and leadership of their relevant Learning Neighbourhood – including staff appraisals, behaviour management, parent communication, behaviour management, enrolment interviews, program overviews and reviews, resourcing, and staff management. Any issues must first be raised with the relevant Learning Neighbourhood Director before being brought to the attention of the Conductor.
The conductor’s role is best described as a Chief Executive Officer of Living School.
Business Manager: sets the annual budget and oversees all budget items plus all legal requirements to do with the financial execution of Living School’s payroll and grants..
Operations Manager: Responsible for day to day operations, logistics (especially bus coordination), WHS and forward planning communication.
Human Resources: responsible for recruiting, performance management, compliance and employee engagement.
Enrolments Officer: responsible for managing enrolments, processing applications, coordinating interviews with Learning Neighbourhood Directors, maintaining student records, and coordinating open days and school tours.
Bus and Systems Coordinator: Responsible for financial records.
Learning Neighbourhood Directors: These are the heads of each school; Primary, Middle and Academy – as well as our outreach programs: Ngulingah and School of the Open Sky.
School Advocate: this position acts as the school counsellor. The role manages critical needs – and addresses welfare needs with families. Teachers are able to request a meeting between a student and the Advocate. The Advocate has a protocol of confidentiality and in Living School is scheduled to meet a student in-school for three visits, and then there is an external referral.
Behaviour Managers: these positions are responsible for extended support and/or serious behaviour management to ensure there is no bottle-neck. A teacher is able to seek support only once that teacher has heeded all of the behaviour management expectations that lie with the classroom teacher.
Data Entry: responsible for managing the library and entering all relevant data, writing reports and updating student lists.
