Absences – Staff
In the case of illness, teachers are to notify their Learning Neighbourhood Director and Admin Staff are to contact the Business Manager so a casual replacement can be arranged. Evidence will not be required for the first three days of Personal/Carer’s Leave taken by an Employee in a school year unless there is a consistent pattern of absence. If there is a consistent pattern of absence, it will be raised with the relevant staff member by the HR Manager and/or Conductor.
- If you are on a medical certificate, you are not permitted to be at work unless a clearance certificate has been submitted from the Doctor/Medical Practitioner.
- If you would like to apply for any leave other than SICK/CARER’S LEAVE, please contact the business manager then submit a leave request in Xero Me.
- For further information see the current Enterprise Agreement.
- Classroom Teachers are expected to have an up-to-date class confidential folder which includes current timetables, students with diverse learning needs, class profiles indicating medical needs and curriculum overviews.
Pre-Arranged absence owing to Professional Development
On days where staff are absent due to pre-arranged PD an overview is required to be left for the casual teacher. Work can be emailed through to the casual teacher directly or sent to their Learning Neighbourhood Director to pass it on.
On sick days there is no expectation for the teacher to send in work.
