Each year Staff Development Days / Professional Learning (PL) are allocated so staff can work on professional development, curriculum development and school policies.
Staff development days are held on designated Wednesday afternoons, and specific Saturdays throughout the year.
These days will be communicated to teachers in the preceding year, and all teachers are expected to ensure their calendars are free on these days.
These days are compulsory for teachers and some days may also require other staff to attend. It is the teacher’s responsibility to check the calendar and ensure – where possible – there are no clashes on these times.
Unavailability on these days
If a teacher has a calendar clash that cannot be avoided – remembering our PD days are released well in advance – then an application must be made to the HR and/or Conductor for approved leave. There may be the need to catch-up on the missed PD in the teacher’s own time.
